It's been a while since I've made my own almond milk, but I couldn't help but think that this recipe would be even better with a homemade touch. I can't describe the difference but it's remarkable. To make homemade almond milk is amazingly simple and well worth the 5 minutes!
Homemade Almond Milk
Making your own almond (or any nut milk) is amazingly simple and only requires you remember a ratio: 1 cup nuts to 4 cups water.
1. Soak raw almonds overnight or at least 8 hours.
2. Blend water and almonds in high-performance blender.
3. Strain mixture through a cheesecloth (not mandatory, but will make a much smoother texture)
4. Keep it real or add any extras you want for some flavor-enhancing
Vanilla Almond Milk: Blend in 6 dates or 1/4 cup agave + 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
Chocolate nut milk: Add the above (from vanilla recipe) and 2 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
Chai milk: Add the above (from vanilla recipe), 1 tsp cinnamon and a dash of nutmeg - THIS IS MY FAVORITE... warm it up a little and add some espresso for a crazy good chai latte.
